One foundation, built to carry the weight

Lybe built the commerce engine on Adobe Commerce (Magento 2) - chosen because it runs B2B and B2C on a single foundation, at scale, across markets. On top sits a headless React storefront: fast, flexible, free to evolve without waiting on the platform beneath it.

Then the demanding part. Customer-unique assortments. Customer-unique pricing. Budgets and approval flows for buyers who answer to a finance department. A multisite structure so five brands and four countries operate as one business, not five side projects.

Around that core, the systems the group already ran - ERP, product data, search, payment, delivery - all wired into one flow, so stock, pricing, and product information stay true across every brand, market, and store. Online and in-store became a single operation, not two that happen to share a logo. When Swedol grew, the plumbing was already there to absorb it.

The customer sees none of this. That is the point. The complexity is Swedol's to manage, never the buyer's to notice.

The number that matters

When Lybe started, Swedol's revenue sat just above SEK 2 billion. Today it clears SEK 9 billion.

Acquisitions drove much of that climb. But every acquisition has to land somewhere - new brands, new markets, new customers absorbed into commerce that already works, without a rebuild each time. The platform was not the thing that grew. It was the thing that let everything else grow.

That distinction is the return. A commerce platform you replatform every few years is a tax on expansion. One that scales quietly is leverage. Alligo bought companies; the platform simply took them in.

Adobe took notice. The build became a global case study for what enterprise commerce on Magento can achieve.

What compounds

Nine years in, Lybe and Swedol still build together. That is the real result — not a launch, a partnership. One that has survived mergers, market entries, and a fourfold rise in revenue, because the platform kept earning its place.

Enterprise commerce is rarely won in a single project. It is won by one early decision: build a foundation that holds when the business changes underneath it. Swedol made that call in 2017. It is still paying off today.

If your commerce platform has become the reason you can't move faster, that is a conversation worth having.
